I ask the question last week how to remove glue smudges on wood flooring. Nothing so far has worked, not even xylene buffed with fine steele wool, which believe it or not didnt hurt the finish. I have also tried acetone, mineral spirits, and tolulene. The glue is PL Premium from home depot. The tube says mineral spirits, which worked fine when the glue was wet. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

You may have to use a razor blade to lightly scrape it and then lightly hit it with a fine steel wool to remove the resudue. Use extream caution with the razor and the wool. Hold the razor at an almost 45 degree angle from the wood and use it to scrape the glue off. It won't get it all of but it will get it down to a thin film that will come up with the wool. If that does not work you may have no other option but to sand and recoat.
