Floorguy gave me very helpful info about replacing individual strips of hardwood floor but I forgot to ask about stapling the replacement strips. Do I have to face nail these, if so, do I countersink the nails and then use wood filler in the holes? This is my first repair job on a hardwood floor and I just want my customers to be satisfied with a job well done. Thanks in advance for any helpful info.

If you are cutting the tongue and or bottom groove off. glue and face nail, countersink the nail and color fill!!

The whole purpose of filling is so you don't see nail holes! If you installing over a subfloor the glue will eventually flex and break down. *keyword* eventually, causing the board to pop out. Not saying just glue is wrong, but long term, glueing and nailing is the best rought. [/i]

If you have that much flex in a subfloor system, then wood should hve never been installed in the first place. It would have to one heck of a flex to bust the bond of a MC urethane!!!! I would say a miricle would have to happen.
