Here are some pics of a wood floor I jsut finished in my spare bedroom. This is the second floor I have ever installed. I will be sanding and finishing this floor this week. I plan on using minwax jacobean stain for hte border and Bonna poly semi gloss. Is $35 the typical cost per gallon of the Bonna?

Thanks

I'm sure you've finished it by now, but I suggest you use professional stain, not the stuff you can get at HD or Sherwin made by minwax. Minwax makes a pro oil stain that can be coated with waterbase in about 4 hours. Much easier to use.

Hope all went well. I liked the boarder. Is that cherry?

Wood looks like #1 or #2 maple with a Brazilian Cherry (jatoba) feature strip. Interesting install. Reminds me of the way I installed the Entry for a contractor friend of mine. However, the way I did mine was 45 degree chevron pattern from the center to the walls without the border (no room for it). Chevrons look pretty cool. Ditto on the Minwax stain. Bona makes a stain called Dri Fast and it is excellent. With all the work you've put into the floor, don't cheap out on the stain and finish. All Bona products are very good quality.
