I'm in the process of selecting a hardwood flooring for my living room, den, as well as one other room. We found an Acacia flooring from Somerset that we really like. I was under the impression from the store that it was a top grade, but when I did some google searches I found that it is sold by Walmart (somewhat of a red flag for me). I found another site which said it was "middle of the road". Although I don't want to go crazy on price, I want to make sure I'm making a good investment. Does anyone have any experience?

Also, I have a separate post asking about Acacia. It is an exotic but I was hoping that it might not change color as severely as the other exotics. Is there anywhere that I can find a relative scale on woods species?

Thanks

I haven't installed their Acacia but have their other products. I think they are a great product for the price.

Jeff - Thanks for responding. I've seen a similar comment made about somerset a couple times..."great for the price".... which of course is good but not exactly what one is hoping to hear when considering making a big investment in it. What would you say are the shortcomings?

I just installed 1650 sq. ft. of Somerset prefinished 2-1/4" red oak that the builder supplied. I thought it was a great product.
