Is there any particular sealer to use on stairs so that they are not ridiculously slippery? I just sanded down my stairs--they are solid oak and don't want them to be real slippery.

Is just the Home Depot Miniwax stain and 1-2 coats of polyurethane going to be too slippery? Let me know what you guys think and what you use.

Nick

Most polyurethanes are not slippery unless they get very wet. And even then, are not considered "slippery". But do not wax or oil a urethane finish if you do not want slippery. Urethanes are what are used on sports courts.
