I am going to install a tongue and groove floor on my covered porch. The porch wraps around the house. Where the porch turns the corner and changes direction to wrap around the house I would like to have a mitered seam of the two directions of flooring coming together.

Do start the flooring at the miter and work my way to the ends or do I start at the 2 ends and work towards the miter?

I am temped to start at the mitered corner.

Thank you.

You will only have one layer of flooring if you want to reduce rot over time. Start at the mitered corner. I recommend gluing with sub-floor adhesive as each joist is crossed. I think you will have less waste if you can plan with long boards. Butt-joints will trap water, so avoid having them. All full length boards is best.
