Hello again, With your help and advice I am having my improperly installed Shaw engineered 5" plank BC glue down floor pulled up at no cost. Flooring company is not charging anything for install or removal.

I have some questions, how will the "demolition" guys get the adhesive off the concrete to prepare for the next installation? the company that installed is going to remove their floor, any problems I should anticipate?

Next installation will be by a real wood installer.

I have one installer who is offering a glue down unfinished engineered BC with a 4mm thick wood layer on a 3/8 base, no bevels, flush fit. This would be site finished.

He also has a prefinished product with a similar thickness wood layer, and no microbevels, flush fit boards that he would install as a floating installation with a foam underlayment. This is not BC but a similar dark wood.

Which would be the best choice for installation on slab?

Should the slab be moisture sealed if glue down is used?

The last installation had end peaking and slight bowing, also insufficient adhesive and little or no slab prep.

Thanks again guys for helping me out of a bad deal!

Redrum

If he doesn't know the answers to your questions, then are you sure you got the right guy?
