Hi, I recently purchased a home and had select & better grade birch flooring installed. They insist that this is select grade but every picture I see online tells me that this is not select & better. Here is a picture:
Can anyone give me any feedback. Thanks.

Sorry couldn't get the pic to show up so if you could just follow the link.

The grade does appear to be select due to lack of knots and other natural "defects/characteristics"

However, the wood is what some mills cal "un-select for color" Meaning the red and white birch mix in color.

One can never be specific enough anymore. Mills now will offer select RED birch or select WHITE birch (or yellow) but what you have is select grade non specific in color.

Nevertheless very pretty IMHO

In order to achieve what the competition cannot grasp, we must complete what they will not attempt. Nobody ever said it would be easy, but it's darn sure worth it.
