I have not been able to see either in person. What is recommended. The red oak is on our first floor consisting of hallway, 13 steps leading to lower level, kitchen and great room (about 1200 sq. feet). One 3 year old, a beagle dog who likes to run around and baby on the way. Thanks for your insight.

In Traffic semi is like an oil based satin and Traffic satin is a whole different level of satin than most are used to seeing. In saying that, I like satin on a dark floor like an ebonized floor or walnut. On lighter woods it tends to fade it out too much.

I assume you think select red oak is a lighter wood and you recommend semi gloss in the Traffic. Is this correct. Thanks. That is the way I was leaning.
