Owner is saying the floor looks too "orange" I personally think it looks great though.

Would a 2nd coat of stain lessen the orange?

stain is still wet in the pic

It may help to do another coat of stain with a different color. Of course you would want to test a small inconspicuous area.

Ok I found out that the light walnut had orange undertones in it. It didn't show up when I sampled it in the closet though. It's the sunlight that turns it orange

Anyways. I put a coat of dark walnut on top. I applied it with the varathane applicator pad on a stick. I let the stain dry for 10-15 minutes before wiping and it was blotchy. So when I went to do the living room I left the stain on. It looked a lot better this way. I'm hoping the wood absorbs it by tomorrow. Then I went back to do the bedroom again. ( the applied stain and wipe) I was at the bottom of the can so the stain was coming out do dark. Super concentrated. I tried my best to work it around the room but damn it was dark. I'm going to check tomorrow to see how it is. I know the bedroom will be darker than the living room but what can you do. It actually looks pretty good darker. There are some blotchy spots here and there but I think it's just the nature of putting a different colour over top.

It sounds like maybe the stain wasn't stirred well,if it got darker towards the bottom of the can.Thats prob. what caused the blotches.I always apply stain with a terry pad,by hand, comes out perfect that way.

I was stirring but it still came out like this. The problem is now it's been over 24 hours and the stain is still wet. Do I wipe it off and risk blotching or wait till it drys. It has been pretty humid so I closed the windows and turned the ac on.
