Looking for some info on the best way to finish my 3/4" unfinished black ash flooring. I am planning to lay my floors in the next 2 weeks after it acclimates so need a plan for finishing.

I have used Ben Moore Stays Clear on my ceiling and it seems durable. It is readily available where I live. Any suggestions from experience?

Definately want to go water based with something that will not yellow my wood. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

use a floor finish from the likes of BONA OR bASIC COATINGS. You can have it shipped to your door.

Thanks Kevin. I have contacted a distributor for Basic Coatings out of Winnipeg, MB Canada. I have been advised to use two coats of Hydroline sealer followed by 2 coats of Streetshoe Satin. The specs on these products look sound really good. There are good videos about their product lines on youtube as well.

Basic coating's products are very good. As far as using two sealer coats versus one, that's up to you.You will get more build than using just one sealer coat . But the 2nd coat of sealer wont do much to protect your floors and the material is not cheap.

If I wanted a lot of build that equaled more protection, I would use one coat of sealer and three coats of finish.
