Hello,
I'm having my LR and BR floors refinished, and need to use a low VOC water based finish like Traffic. But I love the old golden look of my current floors. One installer says he can use an oil-based sealer under two coats of Traffic and it will look "more like" my current finish.
There must be others who want the benefits of the new products with the warmth of the old finishes. Isn't there a stain, undercoat, or sealer that will give me both?
Thank you for any advice,
--Barry (bthis@swbell.net)

the oil based sealer like he suggested is a good way to give the floor some color but a little light stain might be neeed as well to give it a bit more . It will be tough to get the thing to look exactly like an old oil based fished floor. Do some test samples to make your best choice.
