I'm just looking for feedback from flooring contractors all over their country as to what form of advertising seems to be still working during our recession.

Flooring Message Forums!
The phonebook seems to have the phone ringing, with mostly tire kickers price shopping, but every now and then...

They are coming out of the woodwork!

Advertising campaigns are organic, living. As if choosing the perfect marketing campaigns weren't strenous enough one then has to worry about the quality of those leads. We here recieve our daily square footage rate inquiries and even worse people using our ads to advertise to us! Inevitable I assume. Good luck to all!

Our company is in the enviable position of having been around for over 65 years, so word of mouth and multi-generational clients have sustained us quite well. We have a yellow page ad, a disfunctional web-site (lol), and do a lot of TV shows with our decorator/designer clients so exposure has been good.
Magazine articles have been a major contributor to our success in the last few years. Seems like Susie homemaker takes these articles to heart and thinks the featured company (very often us) is the only way to go. After all she read it in a mag.
