 Post subject: What Do Sales Reps Do With Their Time?

Anybody have any ideas? I've had enough of one in particular. ""Yea, I'll be by in two weeks.." Three weeks pass.."I'll be up there Monday" Lie after lie. I know what kind of territory this guy has--not that large-- but I wonder how often he sits at home. Maybe it's paperwork overload??

Call up his sales manager and light a fire under his youknowhat. Express you concerns about doing business with a company that has less than desirable representation.
When I managed a retail operation years ago I had every Rep. sign a log book. I also had a clipboard made up for each company with things I needed the rep to do in case I was not there.

The outside sales rep for our finest distributor is good for one thing. Coming around to the largest shops, drinking coffee and schmoozing. The small guys are lucky to get next week responses. I've seen both sides. If ever there was a stereotypical snake salesman.....

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately the company is as bad as the sales rep. We didn't see anybody for three months then they changed reps and blah, blah, blah--it was good for about two months. We started moving their products because there was representation--now it looks like storage would be a good place for their stuff.
